Sarande and Gjirokaster

Butrint Park is the most important cultural and natural object of Albania. Located 19 km south of the city of Saranda, it has an area of 2500 km2 and consists of the ancient city, forest and lake. The Butrint Park was proclaimed as a Cultural Monument, in 1948, for the protection of archaeological areas of environmental importance.
Butrint Castle
The castle is equipped with bedrails for balls and firearms. In addition to the walls and other facilities, an important place also occupies the great tower used for observation and artillery. The castle was built over the former Acropolis, which was on the northern hill of Butrint peninsula. Today, there is also an archaeological museum where a part of archaeological finds, inscriptions, statues, ceramic pottery, etc,are exposed. Butrint Lake or Ancient Pelodas is one of the largest tectonic-marine lakes in Albania with a surface of 16.3 km2 and a maximum depth of 24 m. This water basin is distinguished for clean water, fish, mussels and wild birds. The Butrint Lake communicates with the Ionian Sea through the Vasari watercourse and this is a natural monument.
**Start to Gjirokaster , the trip takes 1 .40 min. Visit to the city castle.
Visit the city's crag, Clock Tower, worship facilities, princess towers, 7-pillar prisoners, or the National Weapon Museum are some of the facilities you can visit at the Castle of Argjir.
*** In the afternoon, departure for Vlora, the journey takes about 2 hours.
